Happy Fourth of July

I hope that you all had a wonderful day yesterday.  We had a wonderful family day and I quite enjoyed it.  Any day that we can enjoy as a family makes it wonderful.

Mickey is at the age where she is asking lots of questions about why we celebrate the things that we do.  We used 1+1+1=1 Let’s Explore Independence Day e book.  We really enjoyed learning more about why we celebrate on the July 4th.

Sparkless Sparkler Craft

We have a sound sensitivity daughter so we haven’t taken her out to watch fireworks before.  This year she has been talking about fireworks for about a month so we decided we would brave it and head out to see the fireworks.  But before we did that we made our own sparklers.  Both of my kiddos liked the sparklers.  I just had to make sure that my little guy didn’t hit anyone with his.  But we loved this.  Here is Mickey with her very own Sparkler.

We also stayed up late and watched those fireworks. Mickey loved them, although they did get a little loud for her so we headed home early.  But she is already talking about going out next year.  Maybe Nate will be interested in them next year.  He decided that it was more fun to bang on the truck and he wanted to be inside the truck that actually watch the show.

I hope you had a great day too.  Happy Independence Day!!
