Field Trip

Police field tripWe recently joined the local homeschool group to visit the police department.  There were a lot of homeschoolers who showed up that day!

Before we headed out to see what happens at the police department we made a police hat and badge.  We also had some stop and go signs and we played stop and go in the living room.  We had fun.  We got the printables from Confessions of a Homeschooler.  Nate loved the hat and badge so much that he had to wear it all day long.

Isn’t he cute?

The police department was a little less hands on than the fire department field trip.  They had a chance at the end of the day to do finger printing.  But with a tired 2 year old and a girl that freaks out when she gets her hands dirty we took our opportunity to leave.

We got to see a holding cell.
The officer told us not to touch anything in here.  One of the kids got nervous in the tour and raised their hands and worriedly said “My feet are touching the floor”.  The officer reassured the child that everything would be okay.

I am thankful for the homeschool group leader for planning these field trips.  I know that my two have enjoyed themselves and had some fun learning.
